Reflexology – The answers lie in the feet
With the launch of our new training dates, I wanted to give focus to one that is very special and dear to my heart.
In 1998, (yes that far back!), I started my Body Massage training and one of my colleagues was studying Reflexology. At that time, it wasn’t well known so when she asked to practise on me, I said yes immediately but didn’t know what to expect. To say that I was hooked would be an understatement.
Diploma in Holistic Therapies
I decided there and then that my next course would be the Diploma in Holistic Therapies. This included Reflexology, Indian Head Massage, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Aromatherapy, Diet and Nutrition and a few other bits.
Since then, I’ve been a qualified reflexologist and taught it for many years. I think the reason I fell in love with it is that it made sense to me. The feet are like a little map of the body. All the organs and body systems can be mapped on the feet. The thousands of nerve endings on the soles of the feet mean that the treatment is powerful! In most cases, I’ve found it to be more powerful than a full body massage. If you’re open and receptive to its power, it can work wonders.
Looking Back
I look back to the college days and remember how well I felt. I was studying reflexology and aromatherapy at the same time. That meant receiving both treatments every week as part of our training so it was no wonder that I felt great. These days, I make sure I undertake one reflexology exchange per month with a fellow practitioner and an additional holistic therapy.
When you attend the reflexology training with me, you’ll experience the treatment in full, at least once. It’s a key part of becoming a great therapist. This is why the hands-on focus is so important.
Reflexology Practitioner
I still work as a practitioner reflexology often finds its way into monthly packages. I’ve created a 90 minute version which includes leg massage and lymphatic drainage. Lymphatic drainage of the legs is so important to general health and also womb and pelvic health. The inguinal nodes can get blocked and this can create stagnation in the pelvic region.
I’ve also added reflexology to my specialist treatment and training course – The Body Temple Method for Womb and Reproductive Health.
I feel truly blessed to share these skills with you.
If you want to learn more about either course, you can find out more about Reflexology here and the next course takes place on the 15th and 16th December in Derby.
The Body Temple Method is scheduled for the 10th and 11th November and also the 9th and 10th February – find out more here.
